Background & Objectives

The Michigan Center for Rural Health manages a Rural Communities Opioid Response Planning grant funded by HRSA. In developing the project, the MCRH team discovered a lack of coordinated activities to address prevention, treatment, and recovery across rural Michigan has been noticed. MCRH coordinates the Rural Michigan Opioid Summit, and its objectives are:

  • To bring together rural programs that are addressing Opioid Use Disorder/Substance Use Disorder.

  • To provide relevant education on topics related to Opioid Use Disorder/Substance Use Disorder.

  • For rural programs to share their current projects and networking.

  • To develop collaborative program partnerships
