Event Flyer

The U.P. Together With Veterans, the Drummond Island Lions Club and the Chippewa County Veterans Service Office are coordinating an outreach event for Thursday, Oct 9th, 2025, from 12 – 2pm, at the Drummond Island Township Hall. A free lunch will be served from 12 – 1pm for *Veterans and seniors, and their spouse and/or caregiver.

The event is open to the public, and geared towards anyone who has ever served, anywhere, at any time, their families, and anyone providing care for a Veteran.

Less than 50% of Veterans are connected to the benefits they’ve earned. Connection saves lives and improves quality of life.

We aim to build Veteran participation in healthcare and wellbeing activities by promoting connectedness and help seeking.

The Chippewa County Veteran Service Officer will be on hand to schedule appointments, answer questions and provide benefits information.

Iron Mountain VA Medical Center representatives will speak at 12:45 on VA highlights, current and local topics, and on healthcare and benefits, including *PACT Act and suicide prevention.

Representatives from other organizations will offer information on several topics.

$25 gift certificates and raffle items from local businesses, including a custom-made wood American flag wall hanging (34x20), free haircut gift certificates, and other giveaways will be on hand.

If you are unable to attend and want to get connected with your earned benefits, contact the Chippewa County Veteran Service Officer, or dial 1-800-MICH-VET.

Join us Thursday, Oct 9th, 2025, from 12 – 2pm, at the Drummond Island Township Hall.
